Welcome to Dave's little world of Quiet Flight
I have been modelling for about 35 years (on and off) and for the last 10 or so
years have been interested in Quiet Flight.
I enjoy building and therefore most of my planes are from plans rather
than kits or ARTF
Due to work commitments, time is limited for my hobby as the
farming "peak period" coincides with the best weather for flying sailplanes. I
fly for sport (not competitions) and fly from one of our many farm tracks, which farm
and which track is dependant on wind direction.
I fly with "Graupner" radio gear and currently either bungee or winch (home
made) the sailplanes into the air. Electric flight propulsion is by means of
brushless motors and LiPo batteries.
I lean towards the vintage sailplanes rather than the sleek modern ships and
prefer wood to glass fibre.
I am a member of both the BMFA and BARCS

Due to work and other unforseen commitments I have had to have a slight change
of direction!! As my stick time is now limited I will now be concentrating on
powered gliders (electric). It will now be "pick-up and go" rather than having
to spend time laying out/packing up a bungee or winch
I have had a massive clearout, donating all the flyable (but need tidying up)
and unfinished projects to a local disabled flyer and the rest on the bonfire! I'm now down to
just one glider (flying), one glider under construction and one electric glider
(ARTF) so its time to get
building!!

Due to work commitments, ill health in the family and a multitude of other
life changing events, modelling has been put on hold. Hopefully I will be able
to continue my hobby later on in the year.
